As the construction of a millionaire's new mansion, valued at £1.2 million, was drawing to a close, comprehensive scratch damage to five picture windows was discovered. Glass Polish Ltd was approached to repair the glass damage, and a team of four technicians were dispatched by boat to the Channel Island.

Peter Hayward, Managing Director of Glass Polish Ltd, explains: "With the house having such stunning views of the picturesque island, quite understandably the new owner wanted to take advantage of the panorama, with large picture windows. The problem is that larger sections of glass are more susceptible to damage and scratches during transportation and installation, but at a cost of £5,000 per pane, replacing them is clearly not an option!!".

He expands: "It took five days to repair glass damage to windows in the kitchen, lounge, stairwell, bedrooms and games room. In total, the work our technicians performed saved the client £44,000, as the replacement cost of the glass would have exceeded £60,000 and the repair cost was £16,000".

Peter Hayward adds: "By definition glass scratch and damage repair work is very labour intensive, as our skilled technicians bring a high level of attention to detail to their work. However it's well worth it because the alternative is to replace the glass panes and that is far too cost prohibitive".
